Welcome to Food for Thought: An Editor's Note

Starting Food for Thought is something I've wanted to do ever since I started my Masters Degree in Food Studies. There were so many things I wanted to write about that just didn't seem to fit on my personal food blog. I don't think many people who enjoy reading about the most recent cake I've baked really wanted to hear about me share my feelings about ethical hunting.

I also wanted somewhere that I could encourage the other people I met through my degree to share their own thoughts and stories.

Food for Thought is a slightly cliched phrase. It can mean mental nourishment, or something to seriously consider. I think it's a fitting name because I wanted to write about food in a way that was so different to anything I was already writing. I wanted to write about topics that needed to be thought about; serious thought--about food.

It's not all serious. There will be cookbook reviews, the occasional recipe, and a few stories along the way.
